The file you have download this is the theme package zip file where include hottest-pro.zip, xml file and sql file so when you finish the download just extract the theme package and you just need to upload hottest-pro.zip file in the WordPress. If you still have problem please send us the login details we will upload the theme on your WordPress.
After theme installation you can find the options in Appearance >> Theme Options.

There is no need to install the xml file since default content is already loaded in theme. Once you install the pro version you can go to Settings >> readings >> Here you can select latest post option.

If you want to add non google fonts then you need to add all the fonts to the fonts folder in theme directory (create folder if not exists) and add the font family to the style.css file.

You cannot add animation in the slider title but you can change the slider changing effect by go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> Slider settings.
